Why can't spreadsheets drive cars? They crash too often!
How about

=CHOOSE(WEEKDAY(DATEVALUE(SUBSTITUTE(A1,".","/"))),"Sun","Mon","Tue","Wed","Thu","Fri","Sat")

I have tried this formula, but it didn't helped me. Please help me to solve this problem.
I have typed the formula as mentioned below:
CHOOSE(WEEKDAY(DATEVALUE(SUBSTITUTE(C6,".","/"))),"Sun","Mon","Tue","Wed","Thu","Fri","Sat")
