Hi,

Could I please ask for some assistance

I am looking for a formula to return the latest date based on 2 cells

I am trying to use the following formula but it doesn't seem to return the relevant dates based on the data in the 2 other cells

=IF(C16="","",IFERROR(LOOKUP(9.99999999999999E+307,1/((Internal!$D$12:$D$5000=C16)*(Internal!$F$12:$F$5000=E16)),Internal!$B$12:$B$5000),""))

Is there another way round this?

Many thanks for any help

Excel Facts

Copy PDF to Excel
Select data in PDF. Paste to Microsoft Word. Copy from Word and paste to Excel.
It should work. What result do you get?

Control+shift+enter, not just enter:

=IF(C16="","",MAX(IF((Internal!$D$12:$D$5000=C16)*(Internal!$F$12:$F$5000=E16),Internal!$B$12:$B$5000)))

would yield the latest (max) date.

Hi Aladin,

This seems to work on alpha numeric entries in Column F but nothing returned if column F is just numeric?

Thanks

The MAX array-formula will pick out the right date if the dates are true dates.

We can also make the LOOKUP formula pick out a true date if so desired.

Hi Aladin,

It wouldn't matter that the formula is on another sheet to the data would it?

Thanks
