Hello,

All I want to do is when I move the cursor to a cell, press F2 then add 2 characters.

I tried starting a macro by clicking on the macro icon in the status bar. But, when I put the cursor in a cell with a value already in, like 'fragpct' and press F2 and add the two characters, in this case '_l' the result is: ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 = "fragpct_1". The value in the cell won't always be 'fragpct'.

Thanks,

George Teachman

Excel Facts

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.
Code:
activecell.value2 = activecell.value2 & "_l"
