This is similar, but slightly different from the last post. I believed that a new post would be appropriate.
Cell range D5:Q30 is the range that the user sees & uses to enter leave. Cell range AI5:AV30 is what the system uses to conditionally format Cell range D5:Q30 when an individual cell is less than today. <today(). <today().="" <today().
Located in various cell locations between D5:Q30 is the letter "H" (Federal Holidays), the locations of "H" varies every year. I am trying to calculate the number of work days in the year. I would like to deduct both weekends & Federal Holidays from the formula below.

I currently apply the formula =COUNTIF(AI5:AV30,">"&TODAY()) to Cell range AI5:AV30, & returns the number of days left in the current pay year. </today().>

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.

Dave Patton Thanks for introducing me to NETWORK.INTL. I modified my earlier formula to include the Federal Holidays. Your formula required the user to input some data. Here is my modified formula: =COUNTIF(AI5:AV30,">"&TODAY())-10. The 10 accounts for the Holidays. There is no input required from the user, also some of the Holidays float.
Now I need to modify the formula to account for the weekends.
