Hello,

I have simple data that I wish to chart in Excel. The format is as follows:

2018.08.06 18:00 7441 7442.5 7439.8 7440.2
2018.08.06 18:30 7440.5 7442.4 7439.8 7441.8
2018.08.06 19:00 7441.9 7443.7 7440 7442.2

The first chart I posted showed the time as well as the graphed the price.

Initially I selected the data, clicked on insert<>charts<>scatter<>scatter as smooth lines. I got a series of 4 lines and removed all but one. Perhaps that was not\
the easiest way of doing it but it worked.

However, the second set of data showed a series of 0 - 10 - 20 - 30 in the X axis.

I want to ensure that the information is correctly displayed on the X axis.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Al

When did Power Query debut in Excel?
Although it was an add-in in Excel 2010 & Excel 2013, Power Query became a part of Excel in 2016, in Data, Get & Transform Data.
It seems that your time data were by 1/2 hour so:
1. Select the X axis
2. Right click to display menu
3. Select/click format axis...
4. Click on the tab [in format axis] axis options [shows as a little column chart/4th tab]
5. Under Axis Options|Major units], enter 0.0208333333 which is 1/48 as Excel write time as part of day [24 hours] so 1 hour is 1/24 and half hour is 1/48
6. Excel then adjust the minor units automatically
7. Further down, number should be showing as time

Let me know if my explanations make sense to you.
