Hi everyone,

The subject pretty much explains the issue, but for more detail, I am using 365, and below are the variations. How can i make it so that all minimized windows STAY MINIMIZED when opening a new workbook?? ... This is so annoying!!!!

If 1 workbook opened and minimized, then try opening a new workbook, then the one minimized workbook opens as well

If 2 or more workbooks opened and minimized, and try opening a new workbook, then one of the minimized workbooks open, but not all of them

If 1 workbook opened and not minimized, then try opening a new workbook, then nothing happens since that one workbook is already opened and not minimized

If 2 or more workbooks opened and all not minimized, then try opening a new workbook, the nothing happens since those workbooks are already opened and not minimized

If multiple workbooks opened and 1 or more open and the rest minimized, then try opening a new workbook, then the minimized windows don't open, because there is already 1 or more workbooks that are already opened

When did Power Query debut in Excel?
Although it was an add-in in Excel 2010 & Excel 2013, Power Query became a part of Excel in 2016, in Data, Get & Transform Data.
I believe that is an unintentional behavior from Microsoft.
In "their" thinking, you open a file from the current session, which IS one of your workbooks. So at least one of those workbooks must be accessed to open another workbook.
