Calculating running time from weight of footwear

Hello,

I'm trying to make a table or chart which can show how much a person's running time will change with different weights of footwear. Ideally, I'd like to be able to enter a theoretical weight (in g or kg) and come up with a time in mm:ss or even just straight seconds.

An example:

A person wearing trainers that weigh 415g took 11m50s to run a mile and a half.
The same person wearing boots that weigh 959g took 12m40 to run the same mile and a half route.

I have those two as physical measurements, but need a way of showing how fast the person could run with a theoretical weight of shoes (disregarding how feasible the shoes actually are for running, e.g. lightweight sandals versus heavier snow boots). The distance would always be constant at a mile and a half (2414 metres).

Does anyone have any suggestions? I've tried dividing the time by the weight and vice versa but don't seem to get a good answer. Thanks in advance!

How to calculate loan payments in Excel?
Use the PMT function: =PMT(5%/12,60,-25000) is for a $25,000 loan, 5% annual interest, 60 month loan.
If you assumed the function was linear,

Thank you, that's a great help! I've been trying to use TREND without much success. I haven't come across FORECAST before - a new toy to play with!

Thanks again :)
