Hi,

I would like to get the total count based on a word that is contained somewhere in another column.

For example:

If the value of columnA contains the word from ColumnB then insert count

If I have the following 4 values in column A

//SRS4567
//SRS456232
//QBR22221
//FRA1111

In Column B, I have the following values

SRS
QBR

In Column C, next to "SRS", I would like it to display "2" because in Column A two of the cells contain the word "SRS" somewhere in the cell. Next to QBR, I would like it to display "1" because the letters "QBR" has only been mentioned once in column A.

Does anyone know which formula is needed for this?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Can you AutoAverage in Excel?
There is a drop-down next to the AutoSum symbol. Open the drop-down to choose AVERAGE, COUNT, MAX, or MIN

2//SRS456232QBR1
3//QBR22221
