conditional format closest values across three ranges

Hi

I have a bit of a challenging conundrum (for me at least!). Id like a conditional formatting rule to highlight the three closes numbers across the three columns, but with only 1 cell highlighted per column.

So if my data was as follows, the closest 3 would be the ones in bold. (1 per column)

211.05	213.32	199.08
209.37	212.35	198.11
207.69	211.37	197.13
205.25	209.95	195.71
203.87	209.15	194.91
202.25	208.2	193.96
198.38	205.95	191.71
193.45	203.08	188.84
179.21	194.79	180.55

Surely that output is wrong?

211.05 is close to 211.37 by 0.32, ie the difference is 0.32

But 209.37 is closer to 209.15 by 0.22 which is smaller than 0.32 so these two numbers are closer.

If this is not what you want then you need to explain more.

Thanks for your note. I stand corrected.

You are correct, the closest numbers are

209.37, 209.15, 199

If this can be achieved by way of conditional formatting that would be ace.

Mm, not sure of a way to do that. Thinking, but I may not be able to come up with a solution.
