on trying to close one of my files, I get the "can't find project or library" message. there are no macros used in this file. I can then not open the References list from the Tools menu. I click on Tools and nothing happens. If i force close excel and then come back in using a different file, there are no problems and I can get to the References list. However, as soon as i reopen the file, and then try to close, same thing happens with regard to not be able to view the references.

Any ideas?

How to create a cell-sized chart?
Tiny charts, called Sparklines, were added to Excel 2010. Look for Sparklines on the Insert tab.
Hi,

Try to rename the copy of your file FileName.XLSB as FileName.XLSB.ZIP
Then open that renamed file in archiver like WinZip (or WinRar) and delete the item \xl\vbaProject.bin
After that rename back FileName.XLSB.ZIP to FileName.XLSB

Regards

If workbook saved with macros then VBAProject.bin is created, and PROJECT item in VBAProject.bin is used for saving structure and properties of the project.
Some combinations of those properties gets the behavior you have faced with.
May be file structure was damaged at saving in your case, not sure exactly why.
At least there were issues in some Insider Fast versions of Excel with file structures.
