Hi there, I am trying to create a column with sequential invoice numbers, however.. they all end with "B". I am able to autofill the numbers just fine but can't seem to get the letter to auto fill as well..
example:
I want my column A to list "0405B, 0406B, 0407B," and so on..
I'm not sure if it matters but it is in a table format and starts in cell A29

Excel Facts

Remove leading & trailing spaces
Save as CSV to remove all leading and trailing spaces. It is faster than using TRIM().
Hey,

After you have the list of numbers 0405, 0406 etc, try add a new dummy column and put in the formula =CONCAT(A29,"B") then drag that down, it will generate the 0405B, 0406B etc that you want, then you can paste as values and replace the initial column A with these concatenated strings

It might be to do with the version of Excel you're using,
Try the same logic but with CONCATENATE instead of CONCAT as the function name
