multiple criteria search

Hi All,

Thank you for your help in advance. Im looking to find formula with find X based on:
111 is my part number in different sheet, and looking for formula with find for part 111 order number in column b marked as X

As using vlookup will bring 6 also index match :( and Im trying to not using 111&order combined.

Any ideas :(?

Excel Facts

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
I do not understand very well the relationship of your data with the columns.
You could upload an image of your two sheets, put what data you have to perform the search and what data you expect results.
Or
You could upload a copy of your file to a free site such www.dropbox.com. Once you do that, mark it for 'Sharing' and you will be given a link to the file that you can post here. If the workbook contains confidential information, you could replace it with generic data.

Hi Special-K99 its not this is the problem. X is in order row with is one below. And in next sheet i have 111 and I want to find X :(

So we must assume the Order line is always one line below the Part Number, yes?
Since that's the only data we have to work on.

Might be better to post with more sample data.

Hi, It is not clear, we should literally look for the "x" in column B or in A, B and C

@brazill23: In order for a formula to work properly it has to work on ALL the data that it is fed. Data may vary. Therefore a pattern needs to be determined within the data.
You cannot determine a pattern with ONE piece of test data.

Please supply more data.
