VLOOKUP: Percentage Breakdown

Hi guys,

I have a spreadsheet with multiple customers and price they paid for different items.
I am trying to find what percentage they spent on each items Can it be done with vlookup?

Here is an example:

Name	Item	Price	Percentage Breakdown
John	apple	2
Tom	apple	3
Amy	apple	4
John	banana	5
Tom	banana	6
Amy	banana	7

<tbody>
</tbody>

As you can see, John spent 2/7 of his money on apple and 5/7 on banana.

How can I do this with excel? What formula should I use?

Welcome to the forum. If your values are in row 2, you can use the below formula and then copy it to cells below :

=C2/SUMIF($A$2:$A$7,A2,$C$2:$C$7)
