COUNTIF with exclusions

Hello. I'd like to count a range of cells that contain any text using the formula:

=COUNTIF(H11:H64, "*")

Problem is that it’s counting all of my cells since they each contain an IF statement. How do I exclude cells that contain an IF statement that output blank? For example, here’s what one of these cells (H11) contains:

=IF(TODAY()-D11<=7,"X","")

I know I can tell it to just count the "X" but I need it to count any text to include "X".

Thank you for your help.

Hi,

If you're looking to Count Text values Only, try:

=COUNTIF(H11:H64,"?*")
