I’m trying to avoid lengthy IF() formulas by using Boolean operators. Is the a more convenient way to return a text string from a cell based on a True/False result that doesn’t involve an IF function? Numbers are easy because you just multiply them by the true/false result.

Hi,

Can you give a small practical example with expected result?

Are you looking for something like

=REPT("my text", boolean)

Its not much of a time saver over IF and can be confusing to who ever edits the worksheet in 6 months.

The second one won't work.

=REPT("Hello", --(A1=1))&REPT("world",--(A1<>1)) will work, but

=IF(A1=1, "hello", "world") is much more compact.
