Hi,

I have 11 parent .xlsm files and unknown number of child .xlsm files.

Each parent file has a year variable
Each child file has a date variable, a year variable and a string variable.

Year variable is same value across all files
Each child file has the same value variable

A user needs to control and update these variables across all files; at present there are 3 variables that require updating globally, but may reach 9.

What would be easiest way to make these variable change updates across all files?

I do not want to modify any registry files, but haven't used config files, .ini files etc - they appear to be a CSV equivalent that is loaded into each file when they open?

File structure equivalent is: Folder <variable name="">

\Year\<year>Area\11 parent.xlsm files

<year>\Year\Client\Client_1<client_1] child1.xlsm="" file
<year>\Client_1.xlsm
<year>\Year\Client\Client_2<client_1] child1.xlsm="" file
<year>\Client_2.xlsm</year></client_1]></year><client_2] child2.xlsm="" file

<year>\Year\Client\Client_x<client_1] child1.xlsm="" file
<year>\Client_x.xlsm
</year></client_1]></year>
<year><client_x] childx.xlsm="" file

Any suggestions please?

TIA,
Jack</client_x]></year></client_2]></year></client_1]></year></year></variable>

The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
