Hi, I have a workbook where the first sheet is a template set up as I want it to look. I then have separate monthly sheets where I want all the details from the template and then subsequently figures will be entered.
I have entered the following formula into cell A1 of the monthly sheet ='Taps template'!A1
but then when I drag the formula over to copy across line 1 the formatting from the source isn't copied.

Is there a way of doing this please?

Many thanks,

Excel Facts

Pivot Table Drill Down
Double-click any number in a pivot table to create a new report showing all detail rows that make up that number
Why not just make a copy of the template sheet for each monthly sheet.

A formula will only return a value, not formats.

Could you just open your template then the very first thing you do is SaveAs the new file name?
Everything would be there each time that way, no references, no copying, no need for VBA programming.
