initialization of the data source failed

I got a macro file, where I have linked data from another excel.
Both the macro file and other excel are created in excel 2016. When the macro file opens, the data from other excel is imported, as I have built a connection.
The issue I am facing is some of the users who are opening the macro file have excel 2013. So when they open the macro file, they are getting the error "initialization of the data source failed".
I am not sure what can be done to fix the issue. Please help.

Excel Facts

Difference between two dates
Secret function! Use =DATEDIF(A2,B2,"Y")&" years"&=DATEDIF(A2,B2,"YM")&" months"&=DATEDIF(A2,B2,"MD")&" days"
This could be because the other people trying to use the macro file don't have access to the file with the data or don't have the saved in the same location as you. They may need to personalize the macro to properly extract the data from their own computer.
