Cannot Copy Data within Same Sheets of a Workbook

I have an excel workbook provided by a third party vendor to fit with their accounting software. Why can't I copy data within one sheet of the workbook to the main sheet within the same workbook?

Workbook A is the third party vendor provided Workbook
Sheet A is the only sheet originally in Workbook A
Sheet B is an additional sheet I insert into Workbook A
Workbook A has several complex Macros

I can copy and paste values into Sheet A if the data comes from a sheet outside of Workbook A, but when I insert an additional sheet, Sheet B, into Workbook A and try to copy data from it Sheet B to Sheet A, it won't let me. I've unprotected both sheets - Sheet A and Sheet B, but no luck.

make sure the 3rd party workbook isn't read only
Have you checked the macros to make sure the code isn't blocking any copy / paste activities

It's not read only and I unprotected the cells. How would I check if the Macros are preventing that?
