Default Is it possible to tell if another user has a file opened as read only?

    Hi,

I have a shared excel workbook that has a bunch of macros in it. I have it set to open up in read only so users can't modify the information in it but I want to be able to know who has it open. So I was wondering if there is a way to check what users have the file open in read only. Is this even possible?

    Thanks

i think it is network dependant, i've seen this file is in use, but no idea where and by who. within the shared book you can kick people out, guidance here > https://www.ablebits.com/office-addi...ultiple-users/

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I need to keep the workbook as read only. Can you share a workbook but make it read only ? SOunds counter intuitive I know.

Are you refering to a shared workbook or to a workbook in a shared location ?
    Office/Excel 2010 64Bits -- Win10 64Bits

Common sense is not so common.
