I have a list of dates that are all text. Is there a way to find the largest and smallest date in the list without converting the text to numerical dates?

Excel Facts

Last used cell?
Press Ctrl+End to move to what Excel thinks is the last used cell.
An Array formula, confirm with CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER
Code:
=SUMPRODUCT(MAX(DATEVALUE(A2:A1000)))

However, the text of the Date MUST be formatted to match a recognized default text for your Excel environment.
