Hi all,

I try to understand why when I create a graph, for the series value and I put the formula

Code:
='VBA1.xlsx'!value

With VBA1 the name of the workbook and ''value'' that refers to a formula in the name manager of EXCEL

Why it works for a workbook I have downloaded from Internet, and why it does not work when I create my own workbook...

I've kept the same data, at the exact location in the sheet of the workbook I have created, and when I try to create the chart with the formula above THAT DOES NOT WORK...:( while it's absolutely the same formula of the excel workbook I have downloaded from Internet

Excel Facts

How can you automate Excel?
Press Alt+F11 from Windows Excel to open the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) editor.
I don't see how it could work.
'VBA1.xlsx'! refers to a workbook, but in formulas the workbookname appears in [ ] . And the sheetname in ' ' followed by !
Also a workbook does not ahave a value. In fact if you wanted to use it that way it would have been with a '.' in front of Value (ie:Range("A1").Value)
