how can i get the file format of pptx, docx, xlsx files with vba without using their extension?

Excel Facts

What is the last column in Excel?
Excel columns run from A to Z, AA to AZ, AAA to XFD. The last column is XFD.
Maybe something like that?

Code:
Sub foo()
    Dim strPath As String
    Dim strExt As String

    strPath = "C:\Users\xxxxxx\Documents\test.xlsb"

    strExt = Right(strPath, Len(strPath) - InStrRev(strPath, "."))
    MsgBox strExt
End Sub

What do you mean by "without using their extension"?
