Good morning everyone,
I have many numbers in excel which read like this; @01392293
I need the numbers to read like this; '@01392293',

When I try to format the number to custom it reads the ' at the beginning but not the rest. I'm not sure how to do this?
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
Assuming the actual text value is: '@1392293

You could try this custom number format which applies your desired format to the cell value if it is text:
Code:
0;0;0;'@'
With that format, the above text displays as this: '@1392293'

Is that something you can work with?

My number was actually @01392293 and I wanted it to be '@01392293',
I used your custom format 0;0;0;'@', to get what I wanted and it worked!

Thanks Ron! and thank you for your quick response. Have a great day
