Conditional Formatting: Formula for Multiple Ranges

So just want to be sure i've got this right...
I'm using a single formula to validate that cells in multiple ranges on one tab are the same as the same cells in the same multiple ranges on another tab.

The formula applied is:
=B14<>Sheet2!B14

The ranges the formatting is applied to are:
$F$14:$G$16,$J$15:$M$23,$F$18:$G$20,$F$24:$G$26,$J$26:$M$33,$B$28:$B$29,$F$28:$G$29,$F$33:$G$40,$J$36:$J$37,$J$38:$M$39,$L$36:$M$37,$F$42,$L$43:$M$45,$D$45:$G$49,$I$49:$M$56,$D$52:$G$56

The formatting makes the font red to highlight differences. This is a simplistic example of what I'm doing, but the logic is correct.
So I thought that the formula should point to the top left cell of the range, so in this case, the first row is 14 and the first column is B, even though none of the ranges intersect the cell B14.

Is the formula correct to point to B14?

Depends on whether that's the cell you want check.
If you are trying to highlight the cell your checking, I suspect that you want
=F14<>Sheet2!F14
