I have an INPUT cell (let's call it A1).

Elsewhere, I have a table with 20 columns.
I want to use conditional formatting to highlight a number of columns equal to the # in A1.
(If a 2 is typed, Column1:Column2. If a 5 is typed, Column1:Column5.)

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
Is this table a real Excel Table object or just a group of cells that you think of as a table? If a real Table object, what is its name? If just a group of cells, what is its address?

I figured it out. In case anyone has a similar issue.
I used the formula: =CELL("COL",[First Column in Table])-[# of Columns before the table]<=$A$1
inthe Conditional Formatting parameters
