Red face User Name Based Drop Down

    Hi Friends,

I have a list of data where I have 2 drop Down based on Region and Name.

Is there any possibility that Only the Specific User can access his own specific data.

I don't want them to view the complete list.

    Regards

Sounds like you want depended data validation.

    see video for details

Dark Helmet: No, no, no, light speed is too slow.
Colonel Sandurz: Light speed, too slow?
Dark Helmet: Yes, we're gonna have to go right to ludicrous speed.

    Hi Scott,

    Thank you for the response.

Sure, I know how to create a depended validation. But If I have name of People in a dependent list and I only want the person who is viewing the sheet to get information on the data validation for his name only.

Eg:- If I have names with a drop down (A, B, C, D). If A opens the sheet he should only be able to see in Drop Down his name not others.

Hope I was clear with my query.

    Regards

By ‘the person’ you mean the Windows Logged on username?
You can use ‘Environ("Username")’ in VBA to get the username.
    Something like this:
    Code:
    Range("A1").value = Environ("Username")

Then you can use the cell as the source of the data validation.
