Hi

I have lots of strings of data in column A, first cell being A2

However, they end all in "~p~" followed by a number

I want excel to find ~p~ and return the characters after it.

I have tried a few formulas =right, left, mid, find etc but can't figure it out.

Thanks in advance
Gemma

Excel Facts

Select a hidden cell
Somehide hide payroll data in column G? Press F5. Type G1. Enter. Look in formula bar while you arrow down through G.
Try this:
Code:
=TRIM(RIGHT(SUBSTITUTE(A2,"~p~",REPT(" ",LEN(A2))),LEN(A2)))
