I am trying to create an averageif formula but rather than for a range, a specific set of cells:

A1, A5, A7

I thought it would be as follows:

=averageif((A1, A5, A7), "<>"))

But this returns #Value!

Any advice or help would be much appriciated.

Iain.

Excel Facts

Workdays for a market open Mon, Wed, Friday?
Yes! Use "0101011" for the weekend argument in NETWORKDAYS.INTL or WORKDAY.INTL. The 7 digits start on Monday. 1 means it is a weekend.
Why not just use Average
=average(A1, A5, A7)

Why not just use Average
=average(A1, A5, A7)

Thanks for the reply.

My cells on occasions will all be blank and if I used the formula above this returns #DIV/0!

Any ideas on how to get around this?

Iain.

How about
=IFERROR(AVERAGE(A1, A5,A7),"no values")
