I use the following formula in column M to find duplicate values in column L
=COUNTIF(L:L, L2)>1
The formula works correctly with returning values of TRUE or FALSE
I would like to add an exception to this formula.
I would like a value of FALSE to be returned when the word "offline" is found.
This value will exist in column L many times and I want it overlooked.

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
I am a little confused as to what you are asking.
Are you saying when "offline" is found cell L2, you want to return FALSE?
Or if it combined with other things in column L?

It may be best to provide a simple example to show us what you are after.

How about
=IF(L2<>"offline",COUNTIF(L:L, L2)>1)

Another possibility (note the "S" at the end of "COUNTIFS")...

=COUNTIFS(L:L,L2,L:L,"<>Offline")>1
