Hi guys,

I've got a wierd problem with this spreadsheet. An extract is available here:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1y_cvduilM1k3nnH8-hH0dbfdJPN9815t

In column U there's a simple formula to sum the values in the preceding cells. The problem is that the first 4 rows are not summing correctly.

I've tried reformatting the cells, pasting the values into a new sheet (using different paste options) but nothing's helped.

Can anyone see the problem?

Thanks,

Rob

Excel Facts

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.
The "numbers" in A6:D9 and M6:T9 are text, not numbers.
Put 1 in A1, then select A1 & Ctrl C, select A6:T9 right click > paste special > Check "Multiply" > OK

You have some 'numbers' that are stored as text. Changing the formatting of the cells does noy by itsef change these text values to numbers.

One way if you see little grren triangles in the top left corner of some of those cells:
Select A6:Y9
At the right of that selection you should see a littlt 'warning' sign with ! mark
Click that little yellow sign and choose 'Convert to Number

Another way
Put a 1 in a vacant cell and Copy that cell
Now select all your numbers (A6:T27 and choose Paste Special -> Multiply -> OK
