This is not looking for a solution its more so advice on if its possible.

Was looking to create a dynamic floor plan in Excel where on the raw tab you would enter certain dimensions of a piece of equipment and it would then map it on a sheet. Something like Item A being 6*3 meaning its 6 cells/columns in width and 3 cells/rows in height. Then the next item would be placed under it and so on using various formulas.

I have a few different thoughts on how it could be done but was wondering if anyone here has done something like it before?

I was thinking using a series of indirect index matches from a raw table to plot each cell but keep coming unstuck at certain points.

all advice greatly appreciated

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
