hello, i would like to know if i can preserve excel cell format when using any lookup formula, i have a chart and want to view sales by quantity/value or percentage based on slicer selection.

the method that i’m using currently allows me to view any of the above with 1 type of format not based on the original cell format

Excel Facts

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.
I dont completely understand.

VLOOKUP / HLOOKUP / LOOKUP retrieve values. They do not retrieve formats.

Maybe supply some examples.
