Pivot table (% different from previous pivot table (negative % when supposed to be positive)

Hi I'm having this issue whereby I'm trying to calculate the growth % between days in terms of revenue. But when I choose the option of pivot table (% different from previous day) I notice the formula is =(A2-A1) /A1. My issue is that when the A1 figure is positive the % growth shows is correct. But when the A1 figure is negative. The % shown is wrong.

For example A2 = $12096, A1= - 623. So based on the % different pivot formula it's =(12096--623)/-623 which shows a -2041% a 2041% decline. When it should be a 2041% increase.

My calculate item is greyed out and I'm not sure why.

Any help on how to show it correctly
