I currently have data in cell AS2396 "04/11/2019 10:49:09", this then gets formatted to in BM column to read "04/11/2019" using formula "=TEXT(AS2396,"dd/mm/yyyy") and the world is great.

However, if no data is in column "AS" and say its in column "C", how can I add an if error to to select "C" if nothing is in "AS" whilst keeping the format "dd/mm/yyyy"?

Thanks in advance

Richard

Excel Facts

Will the fill handle fill 1, 2, 3?
Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.
Try

=TEXT(IF(AS2396<>"",AS2396,C2396),"dd/mm/yyyy")

So if AS2396 is not blank use AS2396 otherwise use C2396, in any case format the result as dd/mm/yyyy
