I've been using Windows for a lot of years, but there one thing I've never understood. When I go to set the Appearance parameters under the Advanced tab, there is a long list of items (Desktop, Active Window Border, etc.) that can be formatted. One of those items is "Palette Title". What in the world is "Palette Title"??

Excel Facts

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
Not that that question has any relavance here... a simple google rendered:

"The Palette Title setting affects the title bar of floating palettes. Examples are: Paint's color box after dragging it away from the edge of the Paint window; Word 98's little help box (the one with the dancing paper clip); or Netscape Communicator's Component Bar." [1]

Erm... it's the title for pallets (or toolbars). Try setting the font size to something like 16 and then observe the title on a floating toolbar or pallet. In Excel you could drag any of the toolbars to make them float. Or you could click on a pallet tool like fill color or font color and "tear it off" to make the pallet float.
