when subtracting two dates, i want to get the answer in months. What cell format can I use for that or do I need to work it out manually?

Thanks

Excel Facts

Will the fill handle fill 1, 2, 3?
Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.
I tried your suggestion, I dont think I'm getting it right.

with the dates 07/15/1999 and 09/18/2003
the result is 2/00 which makes no sense.

Thanks

Format the cell containing DATEDIF with a non-date number format (e.g., General, 0, etc.)
