Is there any way that numbers in Excel can be circled. I have tried using the Windows Character Map but that only goes up to 10 ?

Excel Facts

Convert text numbers to real numbers
Select a column containing text numbers. Press Alt+D E F to quickly convert text to numbers. Faster than "Convert to Number"
Possibly not what you want but there is a way. Select the cells you want to be circled, click on Data-Validation and enter a validation condition to suit the cells you want to be circled. Then click on Tools-Auditing and show the Auditing toolbar. Click on the icon with the tooltip 'Circle invalid data'. I'm not sure if you can format the circle (it can look a bit odd), and apologies if this isn't what you meant.

autoshapes might help too

there's a circle in there, drag it over your cell and adjust the size n shape : it defaults to non-transparent, hiding your number, so right click on it

format auto shape
fill colour = no fill

not sure you can automate it via relative macro cos of the placing, but you can copy paste the circle as normal.
