I am trying to run a mail merge from word using an excel workbook as the source data, I am getting an error "word could not re-establish a DDE connection to Microsoft Excel" any ideas

Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.
Hi

Just try to re do the merge profiles ie select the data source again and set up as before see it that works.

I've had this a few times, not too sure why it happens. The way I got around it was by saving the excel file as a different name and it managed to clear the error and run the merge. Its worth a try if you haven't got any other options.
