I would like to make a graph with an x, y and z axis. All of the choices that excel gives me are only x,y graphs. How can I plot a 3-axis graph?
Thank you!

How to change case of text in Excel?
Use =UPPER() for upper case, =LOWER() for lower case, and =PROPER() for proper case. PROPER won't capitalize second c in Mccartney
I think you mean two y axes.

Select the series you want to plot on the second y axis, right click and choose Format Data Series. On the Axis tab select Secondary Axis and click OK.

Thank you for your reply, but no, I mean a 3-axis graph with a x-axis, a y-axis and a z-axis. Is excel capable of making a 3-axis graph? Thanks!

You can do 3D column or line charts. Select your chart and choose Chart, Chart Type from the menu. Choose Column or Line and the last one in the Chart sub-type window.

The problem with doing that is that the graph still only has 2-axis, x and y. I have 3 sets of data I would like to plot together and therefore I need to create a 3-axis graph.

It has 3 axes. The z axis gives Series1, Series 2 etc.

Why not post some data and explain what you want to see in the chart?

I hope I can explain this so that it makes sense. here is a sample of my data:
X______ Y______ Z_________
5______ 1______ 48.3189333
10_____ 1______ 40.40369468
15_____ 1______ 44.52716888
5______ 0.9____ 29.77774948
10_____ 0.9____ 31.40946542
15_____ 0.9____ 34.22632184
5______ 0.8____ 19.50047199
10_____ 0.8____ 20.94893318
15_____ 0.8____ 23.86645134
I have an equation with x,y and z in it. I want to have x=5,10,15,20...60 and y=1 to find the cooresponding z values. Then I will have x=5,10,15,20...60 again and y=.9 to find the cooresponding z values. I repeat this for y=.8,.7,.6, and .5. I would like my y-axis to range from .5-1 and my x-axis range from 5-60.
Thanks!

To do this, you need to se your data out in 'a cross' shape :
zzzzzzzzyzzzzzzzzz
zzzzzzzzyzzzzzzzzz
zzzzzzzzyzzzzzzzzz
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
zzzzzzzzyzzzzzzzzz
zzzzzzzzyzzzzzzzzz
zzzzzzzzyzzzzzzzzz

Where the z values are those relating to the
x value in that column and the y value in that row. To Plot the graph, select the lot
and select surface plot, and voila. If what you want to do is plot 3d mathematical functions however, there are some very nice javascript plotters on the web. hope this works ...
