I have used the =indirect function which allows me to insert a filename and get the contents of a cell, therefrom. But it is not relational, if I copy this function to another cell it does not change the target cell.

Any ideas on how to make it relational?

Excel Facts

Move date out one month or year
Use =EDATE(A2,1) for one month later. Use EDATE(A2,12) for one year later.
try referencing the cell from another cell.

for example =indirect("'[eg formulas.xls]Time and Date Formulas'!"&a1)

where A1 contains the cell reference.

If your doing the above for a whole table I alway insert a Row and Column which have the Letter reference (Col) and Number Ref (Row).

e.g.

=indirect("'[eg formulas.xls]Time and Date Formulas'!"&B$1&$A2)

where the inserted row contains B, C, D etc.
and the column 1, 2, 3 etc.

Hope this helps, I can email a small eg if you need it.
