Right ive given up with working on sheets without selecting them, so now im going to select the sheet, but i need to the vb for how to go back to the previous sheet that you were working on.

Ctrl+1 (the number one) will open the Format dialog for whatever is selected.
Hi

You could try something like:
Set x = ActiveSheet

Then later you can return to it using:
x.Select

Hope this is what you are after
