I have got a list of approx 5,000 employee numbers - and I want to check for duplicates! Is there a quick way to do this besides sorting the data and manually checking for possible duplicates?

    Thanks -
    John.

If you just have the one column and would like the duplicates removing, you could use the advanced filter.

Make sure you have a column heading, select the cells you want to be filtered, click on Auto-Filter and check the Copy to another location and Unique Records Only boxes, click on a location where you want to the new list to be placed and click OK. HTH.

Take a look at Chip Pearson's page; it should help.
