    Default Merge/Purge data in Excel

Is there a simple way to merge two Excel spreadsheets and purge the duplicate records? For example, in a customer file, I want to compare addresses or phone numbers and delete an entire record if it is a match. The way that I am currently performing this is very cumbersome. There must be a better way, need assistance. Thanks.

    Welcome to the Board!

You could use Advanced Filter-->Unique Records only after appending the lists together.

Or here's a link to the MSKB with a VBA method:

How to use macros to delete duplicate items in a list in Excel 2000.

    Hope that helps,

Do you have to merge and purge your sheets or data? For this there are many software to solve the problem. Better you can use that kind of merge purge software.
