when a cell with a list box is selected
an arrow appears next to the cell. Is it
possible to have this arrow stay on the screen even when the cell is not selected.
I want the user to know to look there.

thanks

Excel Facts

Quick Sum
Select a range of cells. The total appears in bottom right of Excel screen. Right-click total to add Max, Min, Count, Average.
What you have discribed is probably the
data validation box....it's not possible
for this to remain visible.

couple of options though if you do want a
combobox type visible;
1) either use a combobox avail via
a) Forms combars or
b) Control toolbox
2) Format the cell to look like a data
selection area.

Thanks Ivan.

The look of the combo box is fine. But how do I make it work like the list box? Easy?

Thanks Ivan.

For combobox from Control toolbox
Right click on the object and view it's properties. (1st you must be in design mode)

For combobox from Forms control
Right click and select format control
View your options there.

Thanks again but still trouble. Options in either place don't give me what I need. As you mentioned earlier, from right click, to properties and puting in the linked cell and range is close, but in linked cell I can only get one option and it can not put drop down.

Name your list range for your dropdown list. Then use the name range for the criteria. Else use column notation like: $AA:$AA for all of column "AA" as the items in your dropdown list. JSW
