Hi again,

I try to use softs for what they are at best: Excel to manipulate dates and tasks names, MS Project to display the GANTT chart (although I used to play with conditional formatting in Excel too.

However I am at a loss to try to dump Excel dates into MS Project (using in MS Project the Open-Map from Excel file): whatever I do, MS Project considers the dates of Excel as text and not dates (I tried and checked carefully the cell format): therefore the import of data from Excel to MS Project does not work. I even tried to export dates from MS Project to Excel, and the Map keeps on saying the dates of MS Project are text field!!!

How can I overcome this? Is there any patch to use with Excel or MS Project?

Thanks for any reply

Excel Facts

How to total the visible cells?
From the first blank cell below a filtered data set, press Alt+=. Instead of SUM, you will get SUBTOTAL(9,)
I've used project some: have you tried copying the whole column of dates from excel and PASTING them into Project? That might work...
