I can use XL but I'm not very good designing sheets, what I need to do is make a "currency converter" like those on the WWW. Basically I need a cell people can enter the amount, then a "pull down" menu so they can choose currency (GBP, USD etc), then a result cell also with a pull down menu to choose output currency.

Can any one send me an example or give me some advise?

Excel Facts

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.
Hello Mattrixdesign:

Might I ask what is the source of the currency data? This currency data is so volitile it changes every second....Is your source of data on a worksheet or from some www page?

care to show your data and expected outcome?....

You can use a combination of Data Validation and Lookup to produce your results.
Book2
ABCDEFGHI

3DanishKrone.8.43333

Sheet1

To get the currency use Data Validation>List>and select your list of currencies.
To get the exchange rate use the lookup formula in cell H6
The conversion formula is in cell G4
You can pretty it up with Formatting, this is just quickly thrown together to give you an idea.
i will email the example sheet if you want

NB- CURRENCIES SHOULD BE SORTED ALPHABETICALLY FOR LOOKUP TO WORK
