Editing Tick Marks

Question:

Is it possible in Excel to edit the length of a tick mark? For the charts I am making, it would be much better for the viewer if the major tick marks were longer lines than the minor ticks. I believe there is some difference as a default, but to increase that difference would be GREAT!

You really don't have control over individual tick marks, though the whole set increases if you use a larger font for the tick labels. You could use Cross for the major ticks and Inside or Outside for the minors.

I know this is YEARS too late, but on the off-chance that someone else finds this thread via search (as I did), here is the way to make your tick marks go all the way across and/or all the way up or down:

You can fully extend the ticks by right clicking on the axis and selecting to add minor or major gridlines.
