Default Faulting Application Excel.exe ERROR (Event ID 1000)

    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: Microsoft Office 11
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 1000
    Date: 5/9/2007
    Time: 4:41:45 PM
    User: N/A
    Computer: PC#####(pc name)
    Description:
    Faulting application excel.exe, version 11.0.8105.0, stamp 44ed0d35, faulting module excel.exe, version 11.0.8105.0, stamp 44ed0d35, debug? 0, fault address 0x0002d20a.

Users have many spreadsheets saved on a shared drive on a server. Any one of three users can access and work on them. Occasionally one will open one of the docs, which also work with Hyperion Retrieve, and Excel will crash with the "serious error" message and this event will be in the log. Hyperion logs are clean as a whistle.
Seems to happen at a specific time of day, but there is no scanning or backup running at the time. One of the two times it happened, Symantec was updating definitions.

Also, seems to happen when they click on "print". But it is not the security patch 925902 problem because they all have the "patch for the patch" KB935843.

    Any ideas?

    Hi!

System characteristics: Win XP SP 3, MS Office 2007 SP 1

Information on a file: Is available excel - a file with a macro. It is allocated on a server. A file size 7,3 MB. Office 2007 file format. Basically one user (for the last week one user who with this file works used) uses.

A situation following: Evening of one day had been brought the data in a file, further the data in a file has been formatted (strings/columns, a font necessary are painted is installed, italicised, the font size is installed necessary). Next day the user opens a file, the window with the message emerges: In the book "filename" contents which did not manage to be read are revealed. To try to restore book contents? If you trust a source of this book, press button "Yes". And variants of answers And Are not present. After pressing the button yes, the file is restored with loss of the brought data the day before and with absence of formatting. Still a situation with the same file by operation, namely the cell format on the sample became, with a file the error has jumped out: Excel Microsoft Office is detected an error. The application will be closed. We apologise for inconvenience. It is offered to send the report in Microsoft. In log of events the following error is displayed:

Frequency of appearance of the first error is difficult for specifying. Problems with a file long time was not. Had a format office 2003. After a resaving file in a format office 2007, operation with a file was normal that is the file did not break (did not jump out the message on restoring of contents of the book), formatting did not fly, the data did not disappear.
Frequency of appearance of the second error (Excel Microsoft Office is detected an error. The application will be closed. We apologise for inconvenience) - for the last some days arose 8 times.

The request to help in solution of elimination of the given problem.

There is a fresh information, small shift of a situation. It was offered to save a file on a server and on the computer. And this morning the user has opened a file with macroes from a server and the font there was red colour! (Should be black). Have opened a file from the local computer, with a file everything is all right.

The problem turns out with a network. In this connection for me a question - that can be with a network? The request to express opinion, suppositions though any in this respect.

Solution has been found, how it seems to me, on the second problem the following - at report occurrence, the button was pressed - to send the report. After there were upgrades on Excel 2007.
