I have data in 2 columns...........hours,date.
I have many rows of data for each day of each month. how can I produce a chart that consolidates to month level, i.e. one column per month. Here's an example of the data.....I want a graph that shows March and April hours consolidated.
Hours Date
2 01/03/2000
3 01/03/2000
3 03/03/2000
2 01/04/2000
3 01/04/2000
3 03/04/2000

Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.
Have you tried a pivot chart ? or if using Excel 97, a Chart based on a Pivot Table ? you can use Grouping to have your dates appear as months.
